For the past 25 years, hundreds of families have called Getwell Road their church home, pouring into it their prayers, presence, gifts and service to make us who we are today. What more appropriate way to  commemorate  this mile marker in our history than by supporting a ministry that literally pours life into the physical bodies of families worldwide by providing clean drinking water for a lifetime.
Our opportunity to build six wells by September 7th for the "Water for Life" ministry is underway!  Each well costs $4,800 to build. An anonymous donor has purchased one well, and we've filled up about one-fourth of another. There are five stations, representing the five remaining wells, set up in the FLC  lobby, Chapel, Third Place and Children's building, allowing you to purchase different amounts of water and to pour it, yourself, into the wells. There is also a change fountain  in Third Place for donations -- perfect for kids' donations!
Our water project  theme, "Making Ripples," represents living a life that touches the  lives of others in a positive way, who in turn touch the lives of others ... and so on, creating a ripple effect through the generations. A few weeks ago we distributed copies of the book, "Making Ripples," by Mike Breaux, after worship. On September 7th, we will welcome Mike as our speaker at special dinner celebration and worship. We expect everyone to attend, so mark your calendars now!
Water for Life ensures that villages in developing countries on four continents have a constant source of clean water to fight off disease and, ultimately, death. Each well becomes a fountain of life for an entire community. They bring not only clean water to thirsty mouths, but also the message of Christ's love to desperate souls.
